White Leather. Beautiful, classy, sexy, elegant, and chic. We’ve seen it in a blazer on Britney Spears, with rocker studs on Nicole Richie and from head to toe atop of Khloe Kardashian’s black leather pants. White leather….do or don’t?
I personally love the look. While walking through the Savvy department at Nordstrom I had a first had feel of the Vince White Leather Jacket. Lambskin doesn’t get any better, it was smooth as butter, and caught my eye from across the department, crisp and clean is always a head turner. For me, it’s PERFECT for Spring.
BUT, I know it’s the one question on your mind, it’s on my mind too…..CAN WE KEEP IT CLEAN? The price tag on a white leather jacket that doesn’t look like you spray painted it, will cost you a few hundred dollars at least. And with that kind of price tag, of course, we want a return on our investment. Celebs have stylist and most times, a ton of cash for their wardrobe budget, so one spill of red wine, or one smudge into a dirty car and oh no, the jacket is a toss, but they can definitely afford to replace it, the question is can you? Most of us can’t really consider a piece that we’ve spent a lot of money on disposable. So, the answer is NO! My suggestion is this.. if you love the jacket, GET IT! You just have to make sure you take extra special precaution of where you wear it. IE – girls, don’t take this beauty to the clubs. All is takes is one sloppy drunk, and your white beauty is a bust. FYI, the sugar in alcoholic drinks, or any drink for that matter is what stains leather. YES, it’s happened to me, LESSON LEARNED. Don’t ever wear your favorite leather boots or jackets in a place that can be accident prone.
So the question still remains, WHITE LEATHER? DO OR DON’T? It’s a DO for me girls, but only if you can be responsible enough to take good care of it. Or at least do your best to. Sometimes some things are just inevitable, but sometimes those inevitable things bring along with it fun memories, and sometimes those memories (aka good times) are even better than a piece of good leather.
